Young Sheldon ended its run with the demise of family patriarch George Cooper, played by Lancia BarberWhile the character is no longer with us, Barber was recently on the set of the upcoming sequel series, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage.
It was previously revealed that Raegan Revord (Missy Cooper) would be returning for an episode as Missy, Georgie's (Montana Jordan) younger sister, in the spin-off series. On Instagram, Revord shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the spin-off while filming her appearance. One of the photos shared shows her alongside Barber and Jordan. Now sporting gray hair and a beard, Barber looks much different than the last time fans saw his character before George's death at the end of Young SheldonThe image can be seen below.
Barber's visit to the set may lead fans to assume that he was there to film some sort of appearance for Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage. While a flashback scene seems like a possibility, Barber’s new look makes it more unlikely that he’s on set to make a cameo as George Cooper. Additionally, TVLine reported that Barber was on set for a one-off visit and isn’t expected to appear in the series.
Will Lance Barber have a secret cameo in Georgie and Mandy's first wedding?
However, there also appears to be a possibility that Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage the team could sneak Barber into the show. Notably, the actor has already returned to the franchise after the death of his previous character in a completely different role. At the end of Young SheldonIn the final season of, Barber played a mourner who attends George's funeral. With that in mind, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if a similar cameo happened in the spinoff.

Iain Armitage (Sheldon) has not been confirmed for a cameo at this point, although producers have teased that he may appear for a Christmas-themed episode. Joining Montana Jordan as Georgie is Emily Osment as his wife, Mandy, following the couple's wedding in Young SheldonWill Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones will also play Mandy’s parents, while Dougie Baldwin will co-star as Mandy’s brother.

How easy can it be?” series co-creator Chuck Lorre previously teased to TV Insider about what's next for Georgie on the new show. “It's a bumpy ride, but the obstacles are hilarious if handled correctly.
