“You Can't Say It's Me”: The Legend of Zelda Voice Actor Makes Star Trek: Discovery Cameo

The Legend of Zelda Voice actress Patricia Summersett opens up about her Star Trek: Discovery cameo.



According to Collider, Summersett talked about his stealth cameo as Primarch Tahal on the series finale of Star Trek: Discovery during a panel at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto. Regarding the role itself, Summersett said, “I had to audition several timesthen I flew to Toronto several times for costume fittings, and then I started working with director Olatunde Osunsanmi and spent some time on the ship.” She continued, “The fun thing about being on the Star Trek: Discovery and getting to the series finale is that I'm completely covered and you can't tell it's me…you won't know it's me unless you watch the credits.”

Star Trek: Discovery has concluded its five-season run

Star Trek: Discovery originally aired on CBS in 2017 and opened to largely positive reviews from critics and audiences. The series picks up about a decade before the events of the 1966 original and follows Sonequa Martin-Green's Michael Burnham, a former captain who inadvertently sparks an all-out war between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire. Over the course of 65 episodes over 5 seasons, Star Trek: Discovery took its cast and crew to distant worlds, alternate dimensions, and even through time itself, all leading to the creation of two sequels in the form of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and the highly anticipated film directed by Michelle Yeoh Section 31 live-action feature film.


Wilson Cruz, who plays medical officer Hugh Culber in Star Trek: Discoveryrecently discussed the series finale in an interview with CBR, as well as his character's personal journey from being killed off in season one, resurrected in season two, and given another chance at life in the future. “Every season has had its own tonal shift, and I think that was intentional. I think it was supposed to be dark in the beginning,” Cruz said. “We needed that darkness to find the way out, to find the light. The thing that was exciting about the show when we started is that it was unlike anything else we've done. The History of Star Trekin the sense that we would see these people grow up.”
