Artist Greg Capullo spoke about the blood and gore the series offers, noting that “Given my history in comics, it's like putting on your most comfortable pair of shoes. Capullo also talked about the creative process behind Wolverine: The Revengeespecially because he and writer Jonathan Hickman have been “working the way I've been trained: the Marvel storytelling style.” Capullo explained, “Jonathan gives me a lot of room to break things down in a way that feels right to me. Most of the dialogue is worked out after he's seen the pages I've turned. It's very liberating. I feel like this is some of my best work in years as a result.”

Wolverine: The Revenge introduces readers to a version of the Marvel Universe with little to no technology. This change occurred after Magneto's space fortress, Asteroid M, crashed into Canada. The explosion destroyed much of North America. Worse yet, the electromagnetic pulse that followed wiped out nearly all technology, leaving the Avengers and their allies with no resources to gather intelligence and fight back against the various threats that arose in the wake of Asteroid M's fall.

According to the official synopsis of the solicitation for Wolverine: The Revenge #5 from Marvel Comics, “TIME HEALS NOTHING! Not even a mutant healing factor can restore the wound in WOLVERINE's soul. Generations later, vengeance is served cold, while unspeakable crimes are paid for. SNIKT, @$#&$s! Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo's legendary conclusion to their already legendary miniseries!”

Wolverine: The Revenge Issue #5 hits stores December 25th.

Glutton

Wolverine first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #180, where he battled the Jade Giant to a standstill, before joining Marvel's X-Men in 1975. Since then, the short-tempered berserker with indestructible claws has proven to be one of Marvel's most popular characters. The mutant hero was also the backbone of the The X-Men film franchise, which ran from 2000 to 2020, and critics consider his solo film, Loganone of the best superhero movies ever made.

Known as an unstoppable tank who can cut through anything, Wolverine isn't technically one of Marvel's most powerful heroes, but he's one of the deadliest characters on their roster. Even villains like Magneto and the Juggernaut have learned to distrust Wolverine's claws.
