What are we playing this weekend?

Happy Saturday, friends! Fall is finally here, isn't it wonderful? The leaves are having that wonderful visual glitch where they look good for once. They're all beautiful and crisp and filling. It's just a shame they only last a week or two before they turn into sidewalk mulch. It reminds me of a Regina Spektor lyric: “Leaves are most beautiful when they're dying.” And now, whatever I write below this will inevitably be a lie, because I'm going to spend my weekend listening to some really old Regina Spektor songs, because she's the best.

But for now, let's at least continue to pretend that we're not lying every weekend with these posts. Here's what we've all (allegedly) been clicking on this weekend!

Brandy
I don't play anything. Why would I? What have video games ever done for me? Pah. Don't make me laugh. I'm never playing a game again as long as I live. Or until Monday.

Ed
This weekend… a secret game that I can't talk about. I'll talk about it in a few weeks. I'll just say this, I'm incredibly excited to play The Game. A true Edders special.

Edwin
I'll probably skip games this weekend, but I might try Ecstatic by PUNKCAKE Délicieux. “A time-freezing spider robot that shoots rockets out of its butt and a bullet hell against drones synchronized to crazy music.” There's such a thing as ticking too many boxes at once, PUNKCAKE Délicieux.

Graham
He was about to take the Swordsman and use him to solidify his all-important alliance with the Fremen, but some sneaky bastard played the “Voice” card and blocked the Swordsman piece, leading to a series of events that left him far behind, scrambling for the melange while the big dogs fought for the Heighliner privileges, I guess.

Jacob
He managed to sneak out a day early and hit the “let the weekend begin” button, God knows what he'll do now.

Jeremy
I'm off work again next week because we're going to Malta to visit my wife's dad. In the middle of the sun and sea (it's actually expected to rain for most of the time we're there, damn it) I'll have my Steam Deck because there's no point in a holiday when there's always more Black Myth: Wukong bosses to beat. I also have Hollowbody, a great PS2 survival horror game that Nic didn't like as much as he'd hoped but I'm very happy with it just based on the feel. The demo was really good and while I won't have time to fully review the game until Wukong is finished, it'll be on my Deck when the time comes.

Kiera
I want to try Reka this weekend. In Reka, you play as a witch and can customize your own witch hut while exploring the forest and possibly making medicines for the locals. Her style appeals to me, especially with fall approaching. She also has chicken legs in the house and can move. I'm a simple person and that's enough to pique my interest.

Beautiful
I'm going to try Deathsprint 66. I haven't looked into it much but it looks like a lot of fun. I'm a sucker for deathsports, which makes me feel weird because I'm not really into real sports. Racing? No. Human racing with big lasers that turn you into goo? Gimeee

Deadlock still grabs me like a Bebop right after he hooks me to pull off his Echo Stone-powered double bomb-punch combo, like that annoying little shit. I have a basic understanding of all the heroes now and can play about 5 of them fairly confidently. My favorite, though, is still Dynamo. With his black hole ultimate and his little cannon that gets me out of trouble, he's like a cross between Hades from Smite and Puck from Dota – my two favorite MOBA heroes of all time. I'm starting to get to the point where I'm able to make great plays that leave me shaking with adrenaline and joy. Either that, or I'm shaking with anger and self-pity after failing to make said great play. Because MOBAs.

So what about you, dear reader, what will you be playing this weekend?
