Good job everyone! The cat chat in the comments has never been stronger. I really miss my cats in the UK. However, I recently went to a cattery and smacked a couple of sphynx kittens on the nose. Life was at its peak at the time, so I'm a bit down right now. So do me a favour and tell me more about what your fur babies have been up to lately! Also, let us know what you've been playing this weekend if you like. Here's what we clicked on!

I've sailed the high seas of family-friendly robo-tactics game SteamWorld Heist 2, and so far I've enjoyed the ricocheting bullets and treasure hunting. That's probably part of it. But watching my brother play the Resident Evil 2 remake on his SteamDeck has also given me a taste for horror. Maybe I'll actually try to complete Amnesia: The Bunker?

Yes, I'll be playing more of the beauty that is Black Myth: Wukong, and fighting some optional baddies that I didn't get a chance to fight while I was busy reviewing it, and I also feel the urge to return to LAD: Infinite Wealth and the relaxing charms of Dondoko Island.

For reasons that may be related to an embargoed preview, I'm looking forward to playing Silent Hill this weekend. After writing about the emergency phones in Alien: Romulus this week, I might also install Aliens: Dark Descent or something similarly xenomorphic. Any vaguely Alien-inspired indie games you'd recommend, comments?

I'm going to play Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Is that allowed? It's not a PC game, but it's turn-based strategy and clearly inspired by XCOM. I enjoy it, but it's also obvious why the sequel (Spark Of Hope) sold relatively poorly. There's no way the potential audience of kids could finish this game, where every level is an unpredictable car crash filled with destructible cover, enemy types, status effects, and deadly weather conditions. If they don't have to give up, then I'm betting the tedious (and sometimes unclear) block/swap puzzles will be enough for them.

I'm still not out of the Warhammer 40000: Space Marine II press preview, it's days after the embargo lifted and at this point it should probably just be released as a demo. That's a lot of 'nids to squeeze in, isn't it?

Still floating around somewhere, on the other side of the ocean.

Lately, I've been listening to the Skyrim soundtrack while I work – I particularly like the track 'Skyrim Atmospheres', which is just a bunch of ambient forest sounds and eerily enchanting melodies. Basically, I'm in the mood to replay Skyrim for the 50th time right now. It's the perfect non-committal game for me to play because it requires no concentration and just makes me feel fuzzy and nostalgic.

I was hoping to put off getting back into Baldur's Gate 3 until the latest, latest update came out. Alas, I have to go kick a squirrel ASAP. Really, video games can do that. I'm getting a new roommate this weekend. My roommate is a cat.

I'm afraid I can't answer that question, dear reader. Because for the guides I have to stick to the game I play, and I just OO OOO OOOOO AAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAAA! – ahem. Sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'll eat a banana and calm down.
So what about you, dear reader, what will you be playing this weekend?
