Vault 13 will be released on August 8th

The modding team behind Fallout Vault 13, a fan remake of the first Fallout in the Fallout 4 Creation Engine, has announced that a demo will be released tomorrow. The demo is expected to be available starting at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

As the title suggests, Fallout Vault 13 aims to recreate the first Fallout game in the Fallout 4 engine. In other words, it is a total conversion mod.

From what we know, the playable area for the Fallout: Vault 13 demo will be about a third the size of the Commonwealth. In this area, you can explore Vault 13, Vault 15, Shady Sands, The Khans, and numerous other new locations in the Wasteland.

The ultimate goal of Fallout Vault 13 is to completely reimagine Fallout 1. Players will be able to explore all environments, both outdoors and indoors.

This mod is one of the most ambitious fan projects for Fallout 4, along with Fallout London. So we're excited to try out the demo for Fallout Vault 13.

The modding team has announced that they will be sharing the download link on their Discord server, so if you're a fan of the first Fallout game, we highly recommend you join their server. I've also included an older video of it below, which will give you some insight into what the team is aiming for.

If you're interested in Fallout 4, you might also be interested in these other mods for it. For example, there's a LOD mod that reduces pop-ins from distant objects/shadows/textures. Then we have the Disk Cache Enabler mod. There's also a mod that adds ragdoll physics and dead body collisions. Another great mod is this one that fixes the game's long loading times. DirectHit is a mod that reworks the enemy AI. And let's not forget this mod that deals real location-based damage to all enemies. A few days ago, we also shared this mod that adds 10 drivable cars/vehicles with Havok physics to the game.

To improve graphics or performance, you can use the following mods. For example, there are various HD texture packs. You can download either this 8K texture pack or this 41GB 4K texture pack that optimizes all 40,962 textures. There is also a mod that improves the faces of over 1450 NPCs. Finally, there is a mod that adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 2, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS. Oh, and there is a mod that adds AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation to the game.

Let's also not forget the DLC-sized expansion mods you can get for F4. Fallout New Vegas Remake in Fallout 4 is an unreleased mod that we're really excited about. Then we have Fallout: Miami. America Rising 2 is another fan DLC/expansion mod that integrated the Enclave faction into the main story with 24 main quests. Caves Of The Commonwealth is another fan expansion that adds 2-5 hours of new game content. Let's also not forget Fallout London, which looks promising. You can also download Sim Settlements 2 – Chapter 3, Whispering Hills, a cool Silent Hill mod, and The Wilderness Mod. You can also download a new horror quest mod inspired by Lovecraft, Resident Evil, and Dead Space. Last month, we shared another quest mod for that as well. Oh, and the Mass Effect Evolution mod is back up for download.

Have fun and stay tuned for more!
