The Marvel Studios movie Deadpool and Wolverine includes several appearances by major characters from previous Marvel films, but there was only room to include so many. Some fan favorites were absent from the film, such as Halle Berry's Storm from The X-Men movie.
While speaking with ComicBook.com to promote the Netflix title The UnionBerry was asked directly about a possible return as Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine. She revealed that she had actually been approached about her interest in joining the project by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' real-life wife who voiced Lady Deadpool in the film. Although Berry confirmed that she would have been open to joining if a real-life offer had been made to her, that call from Reynolds never came, leaving Storm out in the cold.

As Berry said when asked if there had ever been formal talks about joining the film, “No. Blake [Lively] I was asked once, I met her at a Marc Jacobs show and she asked me: “Would you ever be in my husband's movie as Storm?” I said, “Yes, if he asked me,” but he never asked me.”

Before the film's release, there were rumors that Berry's Storm would appear in the film. Deadpool and Wolverinebut that didn't work. She's not the only one, like other main characters of the The X-Men were not considered. Director Shawn Levy recently confirmed that it was never in Patrick Stewart's plans to appear as Professor X in the film. There were a few key elements The X-Men villains who have appeared, however, such as Tyler Mane's Sabretooth and Aaron Stanford's Pyro.

In addition to her role as Storm, Berry is also known for playing the title character in the DC series Catwoman film. Although the film was not well received upon its release in 2004, Berry has remained proud of the role, even recently celebrating its 20th anniversary. In 2022, she even commented on how she would love to revisit the role as much as Storm if she had the chance to reprise both parts.
Halle Berry Would Return to Play Storm or Catwoman If She Had the Chance
“I would revisit any of them, actually,” Berry told ComicBook.com of her past roles. “I loved all those characters and I was always grateful to be able to play them and be a part of those great franchises, you know? So I would revisit any of them.”
Deadpool and Wolverine is now in theaters. Berry's Storm may not be there, but the film brings back Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Wesley Snipes as Blade, while introducing Channing Tatum as Gambit for the first time.
