2K Games and Hangar 13 have announced that the next installment in the Mafia series will be called Mafia: The Old Country. In other words, Mafia 4 is Mafia: The Old Country. And to celebrate this announcement, the teams have released a teaser trailer, which you can find below.
In Mafia: The Old Country, players will learn how organized crime began. The game attempts to tell a tough and intense story set in the violent world of 20th century Sicily.
Players will have to fight for survival in this dangerous and harsh time. As the developers noted, the game will offer authentic realism and a deep storytelling – things that the Mafia series is known for.
2K Games and Hangar 13 haven't revealed any further details about it. However, they have promised to share more in December 2024. This means we might get a gameplay trailer at TGA 2024. At least that's what I expect.
This trailer shows in-engine footage. Since we've seen several in-engine trailers for games that looked better than the final products, I recommend taking this one with a grain of salt. Still, it can give you an idea of what the developers are trying to achieve.
In addition, the official Steam store page has some direct screenshots from the engine. The interesting thing is that these screenshots were not seen in the trailer. In other words, they are proper direct screenshots. That's why I've included them below, so be sure to check them out.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
