IGN has released a new official gameplay trailer for the upcoming Souls-style fantasy action RPG, The Relic: The First Guardian. In addition, the developers have released the game's Steam store page and revealed a release date in 2025, so let's take a closer look.
In this action RPG, players embark on a heroic adventure as the last Guardian to save the world in darkness. Players begin their journey as a Guardian, collecting pieces of great relics and closing the Void.
Like all Souls-inspired games, the game will feature stamina and dodge mechanics. You can also parry enemy attacks, allowing you to unleash combos on your enemies. You can see more of the game's combat in the trailer below.
The game offers players the opportunity to choose between 5 different types of weapons that form the basis of the action. Each weapon has its unique abilities that can be modified depending on the play style.
In The Relic: The First Guardian, characters don't have levels. Instead, they use runes, items, and crafting to become stronger. To make their characters the best, players explore dungeons and defeat bosses, helping them expand their world and reach their full potential.
The Relic: The First Guardian has been in development for quite some time now, and since it's an indie game, I suggest you keep your expectations in check.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
