Many Test Drive fans were disappointed with the PC demo of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. To put it simply, the game was disappointing, especially in terms of graphics. However, it seems that KT Racing has taken all the criticism and is trying to improve things.
Yesterday, NACON released a new gameplay developer diary for the game. In this video, the team showcased the game's improved graphics, lighting, physics, interior quality, sense of speed, and more.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown now looks and feels better than the demo, so that's good news for racing fans at least. And to be honest, this could be a crucial improvement that could save the game.
See, before these improvements, the game looked and felt bad. And with Forza Horizon still going strong, it made no sense at all to invest in another racing game. However, since KT Racing has made these improvements, it could mean that the team will be there to support it.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will include a full-fledged version of Hong Kong Island. The game retains the key features of the previous games, but also brings a modern twist to multiplayer racing. Players can freely explore the island or take part in various races and challenges. Great emphasis is also placed on customizing your vehicles and social interactions with other players.
I'm still not sold on the game's social features. However, I can say that TDU: SC is no longer a DOA title. At least that's the impression I get of it. I mean, look at it. It at least looks like fun now.
NACON will release Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown on September 12th. Oh, and in case you're wondering: No. KT Racing hasn't announced the final PC system requirements yet.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
