Star Wars Outlaws is getting two story DLCs featuring Lando and Hondo, but only if you pay for a special edition

Star Wars Outlaws is coming out relatively soon, and if you’re into Ubisoft’s open worlds and pseudo-Uncharted mechanics filled with lined-up, slobbering aliens, it looks like a relatively exciting game. And if you’re excited, get ready to get even more excited — or even more exhausted — because Ubi has announced its DLC plans for Outlaws season pass holders. These DLCs will introduce you to “notorious gambler” Lando Calrissian and “veteran pirate” Hondo Ohnaka, who I’m definitely familiar with.

The game will be released on August 30th, with both DLCs set to be released afterwards. The first DLC, titled “Wild Card”, will be released in the fall of this year, while the second, “A Pirate's Fortune”, will be released in the spring of 2025.

In Wild Card, you'll be involved in a “high-stakes Sabacc tournament” where you'll meet Lando, a legendary gambler who isn't playing host to Ornstein and Smough or archers who throw you off those filthy rooftops. And in A Pirate's Fortune, you'll meet Hondo, who's “trying to settle old scores with a ruthless pirate gang,” and it's not a stick-shift vehicle or an old western starring John Wayne.

Now comes the painful part. To access any of this DLC, you’ll need to buy a version of the game that comes with the season pass. Right now, it looks like you can’t buy the season pass separately… which is a bummer. That means if you want both of these DLC packs, you’ll need to buy the Gold Edition for £95 or the Ultimate Edition for £115 (for reference, the base game is £60). Subscribe to Ubisoft+ for £15 a month and it’ll give you access too. Oh my, those prices.

Edwin tried out Star Wars Outlaws at this year's Geoff Fest and thought it was about as Han Solo-like as Ubisoft's open-world game gets. “Again, I think all of this would probably add up to someone's idea of a good time, especially for a Star Warrior who hasn't played a Ubisoft game in a while,” he wrote. “The mechanics are tedious and uninspiring, but it's an adequate presentation mechanism for the setting.”

There are more details on those prices and a few extra items in the season pass over on Ubisoft's site , or you can also keep an eye out for Star Wars Outlaws on Ubisoft's site .
