The team behind the fantastic PlayStation 4 emulator shadPS4 has just released its latest build, but anyone looking to test Bloodborne should know that this build does not include the latest optimizations and fixes for it.
Earlier this month, we shared the first screenshot of Bloodborne on PC via shadPS4, and since then, the team has been hard at work improving things.
As you can see below, the game can now go through character creation without crashing. In addition, the Alpha test version for Bloodborne can be brought into the game. You can take a look at it in the video below.
Although the screen is black, the emulator renders many assets and does not crash during gameplay. However, according to the team, the game remains very unstable.
shadPS4 is developing at an insane rate. A year ago I wouldn't have thought this would be possible. But here we are with this PS4 emulator that will soon allow PC gamers to play Bloodborne. It's crazy.
However, as I said before, shadPS4 V0.2.0 does NOT include the Bloodborne optimizations mentioned above. I know I'm repeating myself, but some of you may download it and expect it to run on that. No, it doesn't run yet. However, you can run Red Dead Redemption Remastered at around 30 frames per second on a high-end PC system.
shadPS4 is the seventh PS4 emulator in development. The other six are psOff, fpPS4, Spine, RPCSX, Kyty and GPCS4. And all of them are far behind shadPS4.
You can download the latest version of shadPS4 from this link. For anyone who is interested, shadPS4 brings major improvements to the shader recompiler. It also includes important core and GUI improvements.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
