Season four of the finals kicks off next week with a new map, a new tutorial, and the return of Ranked Cashout

The Finals' fourth season is upon us. It'll be launching on September 26th with a new map, a new tutorial, and the return of Cashout as a core ranked mode. Below, we've got a new trailer that's worth checking out even if you haven't played The Finals, I'd say.

Finals has some of the best trailers in video games right now. I'm sure I've written about this before, but just look at this thing. Almost all of them show off things you can actually do in-game; the graphic design and the way logos and ads are cut and placed into the game world; the sound design, like the announcer yawning and drowning out the action sounds as he shouts “Showtime!” It's a joy to just watch.

The action above takes place on Fortune Stadium, a new map added for season four, which for this season features three separate areas based on (fictional) corporate sponsors. Naturally, like all of The Finals' maps, it's completely destructible.

The Finals' third season introduced a new mode, Terminal Attack, and made it the game's ranked mode. Apparently, it didn't go over well. “We know that moving to Terminal Attack as a ranked mode was a misstep. But with missteps come lessons, and while we believe in TA and see so many of you playing and enjoying it, it's not really a good fit for our Ranked Play or the essence of The Finals,” according to the official announcement post for season four.

The finals also introduced the World Tour – designed to be more fun, less competitive than Ranked matches can be, but still offer progression – and continues into Season 4. The update will also bring a new tutorial, a new battle pass, and the usual new cosmetics bundle when it launches next week.
