Yesterday we informed you about the release of shadPS4 V0.2.0. And by the looks of things, this PlayStation 4 emulator can run Red Dead Redemption Remastered at 60fps on a high-end PC. However, there is a catch.
You see, at 60 frames per second the game runs twice as fast as it originally did. I don't know why that is, but that is not how it was meant to be played. Also, there are a lot of visual bugs and glitches.
Still, this is incredible news. The fact that the game can run at 60 fps is mind-blowing. Not only that, but an Intel i7-10700 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 is more than sufficient for 60 fps. That's shockingly impressive.
As we wrote some time ago, Rockstar might soon release a native PC version of RDR Remastered. I expect the company to officially unveil the PC version at Gamescom 2024. That's in a few days. Therefore, shadPS4 will not be required for this particular title. It's a shame, but hey, it is what it is.
What's really interesting here, though, is the progress the emulator is making in emulating Bloodborne and Dark Souls Remastered. These two games use the same engine. And in a newer version, shadPS4 can run Dark Souls Remastered at great frame rates.

Note that this newer version of shadPS4 is NOT V0.2.0. This is V0.2.1 (which is not out yet). In V0.2.0, the main character experiences significant visual glitches. You can see these issues in the video below.
At this point, we might be able to run Bloodborne on PC soon. As far as we know, Sony has no plans to remake this game or release it on PC, so PC gamers can rely solely on this emulator to play it. And that day might be closer than you think.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
