It looks like Take-Two and Rockstar could be bringing Red Dead Redemption Remastered to PC any day now. Yes, this isn't an outdated April Fools' joke. Red Dead Redemption Remastered is coming to PC.
Rockstar has updated the game's PlayStation page with some new information. As the page states, players can now “experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation – now for the first time ever on PC.”
In addition, there seem to be some PC improvements as well. Rockstar claims that we will get support for higher resolutions and frame rates. There will also be support for multiple displays and other accessories, as well as spatial surround sound. However, there is no information yet on whether we will also get ray tracing, DLSS or FSR.
In short, this is a real leak. Since Rockstar hasn't announced the game for PC yet, Sony probably botched its upcoming announcement.
I expect RDR Remastered to be announced for PC at Gamescom 2024, so Rockstar will either shadowdrop it or announce a release date. Either way, it seems like it's the real deal.
This also means that PC gamers no longer have to rely on emulators to play the game. A native PC version offers better performance and has native mouse and keyboard controls.
Last week we informed you that ShadPS4 runs this game at 30 frames per second, but there are a lot of visual artifacts in the latest version of the PS4 emulator, so the game is far from being playable.
PC players were able to play Red Dead Redemption Remastered through some Nintendo Switch emulators. However, that version looked worse than the PS4 version, so it wasn't an ideal way to play it.
Finally, in case Sony edits the PSN store page, I took a screenshot of it. As you can see, the page has all the details about the upcoming PC version.
Stay tuned for more!
