Today Rockstar released an update for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5. But it looks like R* accidentally leaked some files related to Red Dead Redemption Remastered for PC. Plus, we now know what the hidden game entry in the Steam database is.
As we can see, Red Dead Redemption Remastered has received numerous updates on Steam over the past four months, the most recent update being today when GTA5 was also updated with the BattlEye anti-cheat.
In August 2024, the upcoming PC version was leaked on the PlayStation page for RDR Remastered, so we know for sure that RDR Remastered is coming to PC. So the question is “when” and not “if”.
My guess is that Red Dead Redemption Remastered will come to PC in late 2024. At least, that's the safest bet. But hey, this is Rockstar. After all, I was expecting a PC announcement at Gamescom 2024. But as we all know, that never happened. So I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see this game on PC until 2025.
What's really funny is that both RDR Remastered and GTA6 are going to sell like hotcakes on PC, even though Rockstar treats PC gamers like second-class citizens. It's really ironic.
As I mentioned before, PC gamers can already play Red Dead Redemption Remastered using Nintendo Switch emulators. However, this version doesn't look as good as the PS4 version, so it's not the best way to play the game. And even though it can already run on shadPS4, there are a lot of visual issues.
Finally, don't expect any PC-exclusive features. I'd be happy if I'm wrong. Rockstar has added PC-exclusive features to virtually all of their PC releases. But right now, my expectations are as low as they can get.
Stay tuned for more!
