Well, that had to happen. Within a few days, a mod for God of War: Ragnarok appeared that removes the PSN account requirement.
For those who don't know, God of War: Ragnarok requires a PSN account. That's a shame, since it's a single-player title. And it's no surprise that the game is fully functional without an account.
So what does this mod do? It completely removes the PlayStation PC SDK runtime requirement for God of War Ragnarok. So everyone can play and enjoy it.
All you have to do is download the mod from here, copy the version.dll and PsPcSdk.dll files to the game folder, and then launch the game. And that's it.
The funny thing is that Sony has blocked the game in many countries because of this PSN account requirement. Moreover, the game has already been cracked. So I have to ask again. What was the point of this? Was it supposed to entice some PC gamers to piracy? Because right now the pirated version without this mod is more user-friendly than the Steam version.
Ironically, Sony might start implementing Denuvo in their PC versions. I mean, that's the best way to protect their games and enforce the PSN account requirement. It's crap and anti-consumer. But that's the direction it could go.
Anyway, a few days ago Jetpack Interactive released a new update for God of War: Ragnarok. This patch fixed the DLSS 3 frame generation issues we were having. I tried the latest version of GoW: Ragnarok and DLSS 3 FG now works on our NVIDIA RTX 4090. Performance also seemed comparable to AMD FSR 3.1 FG.
God of War: Ragnarok is a truly polished PC game. This game runs smoothly on a wide range of PC configurations, so kudos to Jetpack Interactive.
Have fun!
