NVIDIA GeForce 561.09 WHQL driver available for download

NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 561.09 WHQL driver ensures the best gaming experience for the latest PC games. These include Final Fantasy 16, God of War Ragnarok, Frostpunk 2 and EA Sports FC 25.

According to the changelog, this driver doesn't contain any new bug fixes for games. However, it does contain some bug fixes for other programs, so let's take a look at them.

The new driver fixes some issues with GeForce Experience. Specifically, it fixes a bug where the Performance Monitoring overlay would sometimes stop displaying GPU information correctly. It also fixes an issue where the game filters would sometimes disappear when you tried to use the NVIDIA overlay while in a game. It also improves performance with Chaos V-Ray, so if you were having any of these issues, installing the new driver should help.

If you are not interested in the games mentioned above, you can skip this driver. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. On the other hand, if you want to play them, you can just install it. I don't think it will significantly improve performance unless the previous driver has a serious bug.

Speaking of games, Sony hasn't provided us with a review code for GoW: Ragnarok, so we won't have a PC performance analysis from day one. Square Enix may provide us with a PC review code so we can share our initial impressions of PC performance at launch, but nothing is certain.
