Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 is available for download

Modder “trancemaster_1988” has released version 6.8 for the amazing project “The Elder Scrolls: III Morrowind Rebirth”. The modder has also listed all the optimizations, fixes and changes included in it, so let’s take a look.

For those who don't know, Morrowind Rebirth is a complete overhaul of Bethesda's classic RPG. This mod adds tons of new details, weapons, armor, and more for you to see and do. Basically, this is a must-have mod for anyone who wants to replay this classic TES game.

Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 is chock full of cool stuff. Players can look forward to numerous bug fixes, graphical improvements, new creatures, and much more.

To be more specific, Morrowind Rebirth 6.8 includes dozens of UV fixes and improvements. It also brings new models for Spell Breaker, Staada, and Dremora Archer. There are also new ground models for most robes, shirts, and pants.

As I said, this new version also includes a lot of bug fixes. I won't list them all as that would make the article too long, but you can find them all on the ModDB page.

This is a fantastic mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The first version was released in 2021. And after four years, its developer is still working hard on it. So, more power to him.

Speaking of Morrowind, you might like these other mods for it. TES3MP 0.8.1 is a mod that adds support for multiplayer and VR. Then we have Tamriel Rebuilt, which adds two new expansions and 200 quests. In November 2023, we also released the first version of a World of Warcraft mod. Oh, and there's a 32GB 4K texture pack for it too. There's also this mod that adds voices to all NPCs on the mainland.

Morrowind Fixes

* Fixed an issue where “Nalosi Alari”, a fully clothed Ordinator, was not a member of the Temple. There is no reason why he should not be a member like all other NPCs of this class.
* Fixed an issue where there was a small black line on the back of Hunger's skull, and made some additional UV improvements to the legs and tail.
* Fixed issues where some non-quest NPCs were set to neutral while all other NPCs in the same area/cell were not. This was likely not intentional.
* Fixed an issue in the Madas Zebba Egg Mine where there was a large gap that allowed players to see into space beyond.
* Fixed an issue where one of the boats at the docks near Fort Frostmoth was named “Rowboat”, which is clearly not the case.
* Fixed issues where some books and scrolls were using the wrong icon (closed instead of open and vice versa).
* Fixed an issue in Piran where it was possible to open a door behind a collapsed section.
* Fixed an issue where expensive_skirt_04 was using the wrong floor model.
* Fixed issues where it was illegal to rest in some cells.

Bug fixes for Morrowind Rebirth

* Fixed an issue where parts of the Daedric Battle Axe were missing a texture and appeared white in-game. These should have been removed entirely.
* Fixed an issue where part of the Daedric War Axe had a texture that caused it to appear white in game. This should have been removed entirely.
* Fixed issues in the Vandus Ancestral Tomb and Indaren Ancestral Tomb where there were gaps that allowed players to see into space beyond.
* Fixed an issue where the prices for glass armor in Bols Indalen's “Special Armor Price List” did not match the information in the dialogue.
* Fixed an issue in Dagoth Ur, Interior, where a lava tile would heavily conflict with an adjacent room, rendering it impassable.
* Fixed an issue where the Sun's Dawn (bar) texture was missing mip maps, causing it to appear cluttered when viewed from a distance.
* Fixed an issue where a door in Othrelas Ancestral Tomb would open in the wrong direction, causing it to overlap with nearby static visuals.
* Fixed an issue where House 6 graffiti on the door to Piran made it overly difficult to activate and enter the door.
* Fixed an issue where the text field for cave entrances would display their “ID” names instead of the actual name.
* Fixed an issue where a door in Fort Darius would open in the wrong direction, causing clipping with nearby static visuals.
* Fixed issues where two small wall pieces were floating high above the ground in Vemynal, Hall of Torque.
* Fixed an issue where the entrance to Dralas Ancestral Tomb was protruding through a rock.
* Fixed an issue where two models in Bthusal would overlap, causing noticeable clipping.
* Fixed an issue where you could see into space behind Bthusal.
* Fixed many other minor issues like misplaced items, etc.
* Landscape fixes and improvements.
* Fixed missing ownership flags.

Changes to Morrowind Rebirth

* Increased the alarm value of many NPCs, making them more likely to react to crime. These changes somewhat undo previous changes that caused too many NPCs to be indifferent to crime.
* The slightly weird looking skeletal parts of the Voriplasm have been removed. It is now less transparent and looks more “slimy”.
* The player house key now has a unique model, making it less likely to be accidentally sold or misplaced.
* Added a completely new text for the book “Blacksmith Tools”, written by “logarifmik”.
* Kwama workers outside the tainted egg mines have been replaced with tainted Kwama workers.
* Telvanni Dunmer House members' starting disposition changed from 50 to 30.
* Ashlanders near the player are now less likely to play a voice greeting.
* Some trap effects are now slightly more deadly.
* An additional docking area to Vivec has been added.
* Added animal enclosure to Vivec, Arena (indoor).
* The exterior of the Sanctus Shrine has been slightly reworked.
* Wolverine Hall docks have received minor updates.
* Minor landscape optimizations here and there.

* Added new types of standard enemies intended to challenge high level characters. These use the following prefixes:
– Putrid (Undead)
