Capcom has just announced the official PC system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds. According to the PC specs, PC players will need either a high-end CPU or frame generation to reach 60 fps at 1080p/medium settings.
Before I go any further, I should note that these PC requirements are terrible. I understand the idea behind it. However, Capcom should stick to PC requirements with no DLSS and no FSR. After all, if you recommend frame generation for 60 fps at 1080p/Medium, you will be criticized by many PC gamers.
Anyway, the minimum PC requirements are: Intel Core i5-10600 or Intel Core i3-12100F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT. This PC will allow you to play the game at 30 frames per second at 1080p/lowest setting with AMD FSR Super Resolution. Yes, these PC specs are with AMD FSR enabled (internal resolution is 720p).
The game also requires 140GB of free storage space and Capcom recommends using an SSD. Monster Hunter Wilds will use the RE Engine. And like most of Capcom's recent PC releases, it will feature Denuvo anti-tampering technology.
The recommended PC requirements are Intel Core i5-11600K or Intel Core i5-12400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 with 32GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT. With such a PC system, you can game at 60 fps at 1080p/medium settings with AMD FSR/NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation.
Before we conclude, it's worth mentioning that Monster Hunter Wilds may only run at 60fps on PC. Much like Dragon's Dogma 2, this seems to be a CPU-heavy game. For both PS5 and Xbox Series X, Capcom is targeting two modes. The first is a 30fps mode, while the second is a free frame rate mode. As we saw with Dragon's Dogma 2, the PS5 can't get close to 60fps in free frame rate mode. And since the PS5 Pro will have the same CPU, it won't be able to hit 60fps by brute force.
Capcom will release Monster Hunter Wilds on PC on February 28th.
