Yellow stone's upcoming spinoff series completes its new lead and a name change. The upcoming Western drama stars acclaimed actress and Marvel Cinematic Universe star Michelle Pfeiffer.
According to Variety, Pfeiffer will star in Taylor Sheridan's upcoming spin-off Yellow stone universe, MadrigalThe three-time Oscar nominee is the first confirmed for the series, which follows fellow cast members Yellow stone spin off, 1883 AND 1923Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and Chairman/CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios said: “Michelle Pfeiffer is an extraordinary talent who brings emotional depth, authenticity and grace to every role. The upcoming spinoff tells the story of a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana. According to the synopsis, the planned series “is a heartfelt study in grief and human connection.” MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios are co-producing Madrigalwith Sheridan and Pfeiffer serving as executive producers. Pfeiffer recently starred on the big screen in the MCU film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Her last TV series saw her play Betty Ford on Showtime The First Lady.

Initial plans called for Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey to star in the film previously titled 2024which was confirmed last year when it was confirmed Yellow stone would have concluded with season 5. However, reports in February indicated that McConaughey might not helm the spin-off, as he had not seen a script. There have since been no updates on McConaughey's potential involvement, although the spin-off has reportedly indicated an interest in adding Monarch: Legacy of MonstersKurt Russell to cast.
