The director of Insomniac continued: “These are incredible, no-compromise experiences that we know fans will love, and we're excited to spend even more time looking for new ways we can leverage PS5 Pro on both these existing titles and future games like Marvel's Wolverine.” The update is the most tangible information the developer has revealed about the game since it was announced in 2021. Marvel's Spider-Man 3 may be in development
Insomniac is reportedly preparing to begin development on the third installment of Sony's hit Spider-Man video game series. According to GamingLeaksAndRumors, the developer requirements in the Senior Gameplay Animator job listing on Greenhouse.io indicate that Insomniac may have Marvel's Spider-Man 3 on site. “Gameplay responsibilities include hero traversal, combat, bosses, quests, and open-world animations at the highest level using advanced skills in the game engine tools,” Insomniac's listing reads.
The leaker suggests that while the potential recruitment of an experienced gameplay animator could be for a rumored Venom DLC, the possibility remains that it's for the next one Marvel's Spider-Man episode of the series. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 arrived for PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023, receiving widespread acclaim, with praise directed at its narrative, characterization and gameplay. The game is currently the best-selling PlayStation 5 game, with over 11 million units sold as of April 2024.
