I'm a simple type. All I want from my flight simulators is an accurate recreation of dozens of aircraft, a perfect physics model that includes a demonstration of relevant weather phenomena, and a complete, photorealistic, 1:1 scale depiction of the entire planet.
You might be one of those flashy types who might want to get a job in your flight simulator, like a pesticide sprayer or a fire sprinkler. That's what Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is adding to the package when it launches in November. Now we know the system requirements.
Flight Simulator's official account shared the requirements on Twitter.
I meet the minimum specs – hooray! I don't meet the recommended specs, but that's not because the Nvidia 2080 is overkill, it's because I'm underpowered.
FS2024's new career system brings a sort of campaign to the game, where you can start your journey anywhere in the world with a mentor who will introduce you to the job of your choice. Each requires you to pass a training test, and then you can go on Search and Rescue missions, pilot commercial flights, or fight fires, etc.
The world, which they really want you to call a “digital twin,” has also gotten a visual upgrade, with ground surfaces now covered in grass, rocks, and other details. There are also simulated wildlife species and shipping traffic, the former apparently created in partnership with Planet Zoo and Zoo Tycoon developers Frontier.
