Who will return in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice?

Tim Burton recently admitted that he couldn't have made the sequel until now, as his inspiration was his connection to Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz. The director had plans for a sequel after the 1988 original's runaway success, but the film never materialized. Now, more than three decades later, Beetle Juice Beetle Juice reunites the multi-personal Phantom with some of the original fan-favorite characters.

Michael Keaton returns as the ghostly Beetlejuice, and received high praise from the director for being able to get into the character so quickly after such a long hiatus between projects. Catherine O'Hara and Winona Ryder also return to reprise their roles as Delia and Lydia, but there will be some new additions as well.

In addition to Ortega, who plays Lydia's daughter Astrid, the sequel will also feature Justin Theroux as Rory, Monica Belluci as Beetlejuice's ex-wife, Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson, a B-movie action star turned ghost detective, as well as Burn Gorman, Danny DeVito, Arthur Conti, and Filipe Cates. Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis will not reprise their roles as Barbara and Adam Mailtland.

Beetle Juice Beetle Juice will premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on August 28 and will be released in international theaters on September 4, before being released in the United States on September 6.
