Jeff Goldblum Offers Very Similar Reaction to Robert Downey Jr.'s Return as Doctor Doom in Marvel

This summer, Marvel Studios created chaos when they announced that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor will play the supervillain Doctor Doom.




In a new appearance on Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote his new series ChaosJeff Goldblum also spoke about Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the MCU. Downey has been a huge part of the franchise, playing Tony Stark/Iron Man for over a decade until his final sacrifice in 2019. Avengers: EndgameNews of his return was met with mixed reactions, but Goldblum believed it was “excellent news.”


Goldblum made his Marvel debut in 2017 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2and his character got a bigger role in the 2017 film Thor: RagnarokHe also appeared in a deleted scene from the 2022 film Thor: Love and ThunderAsked if there was a possibility for him to reprise his role as the Grandmaster in a future Marvel project, the actor replied, “If there is, it's in the cards for you, in the future cards.”

She continued, “Then we both realized over time that it was another thing that just disapproves of any doubts that anyone could ever have about [Fiege]a very sophisticated and creative thinker about how to not go backwards, how to not disappoint expectations, how to continue to exceed expectations, and he brought out Victor Von Doom, and I looked at this character, and I thought 'Wow,' and later he said, ''Let's make Victor Von Doom the right person, let's do it right.'

Avengers: Judgment Day will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars May 7, 2027.
