Here's your first look at Bloodborne on PC via shadPS4

And finally, it's here. Yes, this isn't an outdated April Fool's joke. This is the first gameplay footage of Bloodborne running on PC via the PlayStation 4 emulator shadPS4. So don't waste any time and check it out.

This gameplay footage was shared on the shadPS4 Discord server. In other words, it comes from an unreleased version of the PS4 emulator. So no, you cannot run and play Bloodborne via the recently released shadPS4 V0.2.0.

What impresses here is the framerate. When shadPS4 was struggling to run the game, we all believed it would be months before we saw somewhat acceptable performance. However, to my surprise, this gameplay video runs at… almost 30 fps? I can't tell because the team didn't include a performance overlay. It feels smooth (and above 20 fps) though.

As you will see, there are numerous visual glitches and graphical issues. Despite this, it is amazing how smoothly the game already runs. I did not expect Bloodborne to run so well on shadPS4 so quickly. The team at shadPS4 really went above and beyond what I expected.

This ultimately means we might be able to play Bloodborne on PC in late 2024. Performance seems to be acceptable, so the team now needs to focus on fixing the graphics issues. Man, we are so close to enjoying Bloodborne now. It's crazy.

As I said earlier, shadPS4 can also run Red Dead Redemption Remastered at 30fps. By unlocking the frame rate, you can also play it at 60fps. However, unlocking it to 60fps doubles the speed of the game, so let's hope the developers find a way to make it run properly at frame rates above 30fps.

Even if the upcoming version of shadPS4 can run Bloodborne, it is still not considered playable. There are a lot of visual artifacts at the moment, so keep that in mind.

And that's it. It's pretty crazy how fast this PS4 emulator is evolving. ShadPS4 is on a whole other level compared to the other PS4 emulators. I don't know how they did it, but I'm absolutely impressed with them.

Have fun and stay tuned for more!
