IGN has released a video showing nearly an hour of new gameplay footage from Crimson Desert. Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game and this video gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect from it.
In this video we get to know Kliff, the main character of Crimson Desert. We see some of the game's combat moves as he encounters a group called the Black Bears, has an intense one-on-one duel, and faces a tough opponent called Split Horn.
Crimson Desert will use Pearl Abyss' own engine, the BlackSpace Engine. And overall, the game looks great. There's no downgrade as far as I can tell, either. However, by today's standards, Crimson Desert isn't as great as it was back in 2020. That was four years ago. While Pearl Abyss was able to match the quality of its early demos, the game's lighting looks a bit dated these days.
Anyway, I just hope the gameplay is worth it. The good news here is that Crimson Desert is a single-player game. In 2020, it was an open-world MMORPG. However, during development, Pearl Abyss did a U-turn and made it a SP title. And honestly, I'm glad it's not an MMORPG anymore. After all, I'm a huge fan of single-player games.
And that's it. We can't reveal any new details about it. Pearl Abyss hasn't revealed any PC requirements and we don't know if the game will support ray tracing or DLSS/XeSS. However, we do know that the developers plan to add support for AMD FSR 3.0, so it should be easy to add support for NVIDIA and Intel's upscaling technologies as well.
There is currently no estimated release date for the game, but we will of course keep you updated.
Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!
