Via the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary X account (formerly Twitter), ROYAL PARTY has partnered with Hello Kitty for a new Y2K-themed fashion line. The collection debuted with two variations of t-shirts, featuring a monochrome design and a “cute, Kitty-esque red,” as teased in the post below. The t-shirts are priced at 7,590 yen (~$51). Readers can check out the t-shirts and the full collection below, including a Hello Kitty jacket, similarly presented in monochrome/white-red colorways.

The new Y2K apparel collection follows J’aDoRe JUN’s extensive Hello Kitty collection this month, launching bags, toiletry bags, fanny packs, dresses and more. The brand opted for a monochromatic style of pure black and white or pink, referencing Kitty’s sideways pose from her debut in 1974. The 50th anniversary range from Sanrio and fashion brand Beams Couture also paid homage to the 1970s, opting for fluid designs and a beige and red color palette to “express the historical atmosphere of that period.” Bandai jumped ahead decades to the 1990s this month, releasing toys with cassette-style charms inspired by Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and more.
