While promoting the new Harry Potter Audible Exclusive Book, From the Magic ArchiveEvanna Lynch has revealed her fascinating relationship with the Harry Potter film, while hilariously admitting that he sometimes forgets he was in it.
Lynch began her acting career playing fan-favorite character Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter films, and has been a remarkable ambassador for the wizarding world for many years. Famously, she has been a Harry Potter super-fan at an early age, making her an incredible choice to star in the immensely popular film adaptations. Her latest project in Harry Potter universe is an Audible exclusive audiobook titled, From the Magic Archivea collection of 80 articles written by JK Rowling that were published on the original Pottermore website. Lynch lends her voice as a narrator for the Audible exclusive book alongside Hugh Quarshie, Finlay Robertson and Lara Sawalha.
During the promotion From the Magic Archivewhich is now available on Audible, Lynch was asked by CNET why he continues to be the face of the Harry Potter franchise long after the films concluded. Lynch would explain that, “For me it's a safe place. Maybe there's a slightly regressive instinct there, taking me back to the comforts of my childhood… But it's also deeper. The sense of belonging to a room has always been elusive to me. Then there is the Harry Potter world, where I have been not only accepted but embraced and celebrated, so it's a huge privilege to have that warmth and familiarity to come into. Not all eccentric children find that lifelong community.”
Lynch would further explain that films play an important role in the community of Harry Potter fans like the books, although he admits that he tends to avoid watching the movies because of a strong emotional attachment he has to them. He recalls watching the third movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabanand how she got absorbed into the universe again, forgetting that she had a fundamental role in the subsequent films.
“I don't watch movies because they're too emotional.”
“I don't watch movies because they are too emotionalbut recently, Prisoner of Azkaban it was on and my partner and I started passively watching it, and I had this strong feeling of, 'I want to be part of that world'”, Lynch said. “And then I remembered, 'Oh, I already am!“The fans have kept that world very much alive in my life. I keep trying to find that sense of belonging in other communities, but none have yet felt so deeply resonant. So yes, I will always be happy to be a familiar face in the Harry Potter world.”
