The shadPS4 team has released the first screenshots of Bloodborne on PC via their PlayStation 4 emulator on their Discord server. This is a huge milestone as it is the first time that Bloodborne is actually available in-game. Yes, you read that right. Bloodborne could be coming to PC soon.
In addition, Dark Souls Remastered can now also run through the character selection screen. Similar to Bloodborne, it can now run in-game. And that's not all. It seems that Dark Souls Remastered already runs at 60 frames per second.
However, note that Dark Souls Remastered is NOT playable. Although it shows great signs, it crashes immediately when you move the character. I also expect a lot of visual glitches. Still, I'm impressed by the fact that DS Remastered even runs on shadPS4.
As I said before, shadPS4 is the most promising PlayStation 4 emulator for PC, and if the team continues to improve it at this incredible pace, we could reach 15 fps in Bloodborne by the end of 2024.
Speaking of Bloodborne, I can't spot many graphical artifacts, which is good news. I know, I know. Right now we only have two screenshots from one location. Still, this is the first time we've seen a PS4 emulator running it. It's truly underwhelming.
shadPS4 came out of nowhere and has outperformed the competition. The other six PlayStation 4 emulators (psOff, fpPS4, Spine, RPCSX, Kyty and GPCS4) are far behind shadPS4.
Just a few days ago, the emulator was able to run Red Dead Redemption Remastered at 30fps. As we've shown, the emulation wasn't perfect yet. Nevertheless, we could soon be able to play both RDR Remastered and Bloodborne on PC with it.
Those interested can download and try out shadPS4 at this link.
And that's it. As always, we'll keep you updated on the emulator's progress. And boy… the next few months are going to get really interesting.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
