Season 2 of the Phrasebook revival series features a host of all-star guests, new faces and stars from the original sitcom. Fans now have a first look at those guests as the reboot teases storylines involving additions to the Paramount+ series' cast.
Via People, the Frasier reboot has unveiled new images featuring its guest stars and hinting at what fans can expect from them in season 2. Some images from season 2, episode 9 highlight Kelsey Grammer's eponymous character and Holly, played by her Come back to you co-star Patricia Heaton. One shot shows Holly, a bartender, mingling with Frasier as they get to know each other, while another shows them still bonding at Mahoney's, the bar where Dr. Crane and his friends hang out. Heaton's character looks set to be a love interest for Frasier next season.
A photo from Season 2 Episode 4 shows Frasier making contact with Dr. “Doc” Stathos, played by Star Wars: The Book of Boba FettAmy Sedaris, who is a fan and works with the firefighters at Freddy's (Jack Cutmore-Scott) firehouse. Meanwhile, the images from season 2 episode 5 feature OG Phrasebook alumna Harriet Sansom Harris, who returns as Frasier's devious agent, Bebe Glazer. Bebe appears little changed from her evil ways and brings along her daughter Phoebe, played by Rachel Bloom, who immediately bonds with Frasier.
A still from Season 2, Episode 6 features a real-life parenting moment with Grammer and her daughter, Greer Grammer, who plays Roz Doyle's (Peri Gilpin) offspring, Alice Doyle, on the series. Plus, highlights from a shot Community star Yvette Nicole Brown in episode 7 as her character, Monica Finch, visits her sister Olivia Finch (Toks Olagundoye), resulting in some awkward exchanges. Monica is Olivia's “sibling rival,” a brilliant but delightfully deadpan character who has several things that Olivia wants and loves to brag about.
The second season will also see Phrasebook returns to its roots with a nostalgic visit to Seattle, where the eponymous character made his name during the original 11-year run. Episode 8 sees Frasier join old KACL colleagues Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe (Dan Butler) and Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert) for another series, with the series' recent trailer teasing the emotional visit. Previously released teasers also hinted at a potential romance between Frasier and Roz, longtime friends who were close on the original sitcom.
THE Phrasebook revival wrapped production on its second season earlier this month, with Grammer teasing that the upcoming season’s scripts “rival anything” from the original show. The upcoming season features nine episodes, with award-winning television director James Burrows directing the first two.
Frasier Returns to Boston for Paramount+ Reboot
The next season continues the story of Frasier's return to Boston, the home of his parent series, Greetingsas the media personality and psychiatrist-turned-professor enters this “third act” of life, as she tries to form new relationships and heal old ones. The show’s second season premiere comes 11 months after the first season debuted, with the season opener receiving mixed reviews from critics.
