Ewan McGregor says he would love to get his Star Wars role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although the actor played the character in the prequel film series and the Disney+ show Obi-Wan KenobiHe believes there are more stories to tell.
“I really hope we get a chance to do another one“, McGregor told Variety. “Between the end of the series and the arrival of Alec Guinness on screen as Luke Skywalker, I think there are still quite a few stories to tell.“The actor also said he enjoyed playing a younger version of the character, originally played by Alec Guinness.”I loved, more than anything, learning about Alec Guinness' work because I played him when I was young.“, he explained. “Even now, with the series, this is my personal challenge: if a version resembles me a little, I'm happy.“
McGregor's personal love for the Star Wars franchise is what ultimately led him to take on the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, becoming part of the galaxy far, far away meant he had to put aside being a fan to fully immerse himself in the work. “My brother and I watched the first one Star Wars movies a million times, like most people my age,” he recalled. “They were so important to us. So I had to turn something off in my head to be able to cope with the magnitude of it all and move on..”

The intensity of his final confrontation with Anakin is some of McGregor's best work in the trilogy.making his line “You were my brother, Anakin!” one of the most memorable moments in the prequel films.
McGregor returned to the character nearly two decades later in 2022 Obi-Wan Kenobi seriesSet 10 years after the events of Revenge of the SithObi-Wan lives in hiding on Tatooine and secretly watches over a young Luke Skywalker. He is eventually called upon to rescue Princess Leia, who has been kidnapped by the Galactic Empire's Inquisitors. The mission ultimately leads to a clash with his former apprentice, Darth Vader.
