Every character we know is in the new series (so far)

The last episode of the Dragon Ball franchising, Dragon Ball Zis just around the corner. Throughout all the trailers and promotional material that has been released for the upcoming anime, numerous familiar characters, as well as some new ones, have been confirmed to be appearing in the series. In some cases, their specific roles in the series have even been teased.

Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and other Dragon Team members are confirmed to appear in Dragon Ball ZHowever, while they are joined by new faces like Glorio and Panzy, some of their closest allies have yet to be seen in trailers or promos.

Dragon Ball DAIMA features almost all of the franchise's greatest heroes

A fundamental element of Dragon Ball is conspicuously absent from DAIMA

As with every canonical series in the franchise, Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball ZLike everyone else, Goku has been shrunk by the new villains, making him look like he did when he was a child in the original Dragon Ball. Even as when he was a child, he was fighting with the Power Pole and, as when he was rejuvenated in Dragon Ball GTcan still transform into a Super Saiyan. Of course, Goku's eternal rival, Vegetais also present in the series, and can be seen alongside Goku in the trailer. These two are joined by their children, Got it AND Logsrespectively, that, after finally growing up in Dragon Ball Super: Superheronow they have become children.

Piccolofresh from his incredible starring role in Superherois also set to appear in DAIMAHe is joined by two other stars of the recent film, Krillin AND Android 18. Krillin seems to be handling his transformation worse than anyone else, and in the trailer he is going crazy. Meanwhile, Android 18 is seen holding the two's daughter, Brownwho strangely appears not to have been affected by the same curse as everyone else and appears as usual.

The most surprising current omission from by DAIMA the cast is GohanDespite recently starring as the main protagonist in Superheroand being best known as a child hero in the early story arcs of Dragon Ball Zmaking the premise of the series perfectly tailored for him, there has been no sign of Gohan in any of the by DAIMA promotional material. Videl and Pan, his wife and daughter, have been completely absent. It is possible that they will simply not appear, as seems to be the case with other main characters such as Beerus, Whis and Broly, but with Gohan having appeared in every Dragon Ball series from DBZ, this seems unlikely. It could very well be that Gohan is in the series, and the choice not to reveal his role in the series is deliberate.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Doesn't Ignore the Franchise's Supporting Cast

Dragon Ball DAIMA highlights a surprising character

Dragon Ball Z It doesn't appear to include all of the franchise's major supporting characters so far, but it does boast a sizable roster so far. The franchise's original deuteragonist, Vegeta's wife, and the world's smartest and richest woman, Bulmacan be seen in the trailer right next to Goku's wife and the former strongest woman in the world, Who WhoChi-Chi's father, King Oxhe is also present and, although there is no trace of the rest of Gohan's Son family, his father-in-law, Mr. Satanis also in the series. Mr. Satan will be joined by his best friend, Majin Buwhich does not appear in by DAIMA trailer, but can be seen in promotional art. Being a demon himself, Buu could potentially play a significant role in the series, as it will largely be set in the Demon Realm, and one of the new characters even calls himself the Masked Majin.

Among the classic Dragon Team fighters, Yamcha AND Master Roshi will appear in DAIMAYamcha's constant companion, Puarcan be seen with him in the trailer, as well as Puar's rival from their days at Southern Transformation Kindergarten, Oolong. Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yajirobe have not been confirmed to appear in the series, nor have their allies Korin and Dende. Android 17 and Jaco, two more recent additions to the ever-expanding cast of heroes, are also absent. Making up for all these unfortunate omissions is the eternal dragon, Shenronwho wouldn't be Dragon Ball without.

In one of Dragon Ball DAIMA the biggest surprises so far, Shin also known as Supreme Kaiappears to be one of the main characters in the series. He can be seen repeatedly with Goku in the teaser and trailer, while most of the characters just appear as a large group, and he is even right next to Goku in the promotional art. Shin has never been a major character, not even in the Buu Saga where he was originally introduced, and so his heavy presence here opens up a lot of narrative possibilities. Most likely, his significance in the story is directly tied to by DAIMA strong focus on the Demon Realm. Another surprising aspect of Shin's prominence is that the series' most popular Kai, King Kai, is completely absent. Less surprising is the confirmation that Shin's sidekick, Kibotowill appear in the series.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Introduces New Heroes and Villains

Dragon Ball DAIMA Explores the Demon Realm

Dragon Ball Z looks to be a breath of fresh air for the franchise in a number of ways, and its array of new characters is one of them. Appearing in promotional art alongside Goku and Shin, the two most notable new characters are Glory AND Panzy aka Masked Majin. Both can be seen using weapons, their names are both puns on flowers, and they are likely Goku's new fighting allies. Glorio and Panzy are demons from the Demon Realm, which ties them directly into the main story, but nothing else is known about them at this time.

Glorio and Panzy have similar, yet different, blue skin tones and white hair, and identical pointed ears. Glorio has short, spiky hair, and is dressed in a white T-shirt, a puffy purple jacket, jeans, and black boots, with a pistol tucked into a holster at his waist. Panzy keeps her hair tied in pigtails, and wears an orange jumpsuit with an unknown symbol on the chest, a purple scarf, yellow gloves and boots, red leg warmers, and magenta leg warmers. As a masked Majin, she also wears a pink and white mask that completely hides her face, and a dark green cape, while also carrying a pouch of weapons. It is currently unknown why Panzy maintains a masked personality, or what her connection is to the established lore surrounding Majin.

Most of the villains that have been seen in Dragon Ball ZThe trailers for it look like they are minor demonic threats that may not even have a name. The only notable villain so far is Eraser. Gomah, also a demon from the Demon Realm, seems to be one of the main antagonists of the seriesand is at least partly responsible for making all the heroes small. None of the series' iconic villains, like Frieza and Cell, nor any of the more recent threats, like Jiren and the Heeters, have been teased to appear. Every villain in DAIMA It is likely that he is a demon. If a previous anime villain appears in the series, it will almost certainly be Dabura, a former servant of Babidi, the former ruler of the Demon Realm, and the character through whom the concept of the Demon Realm was first introduced.

There is no doubt that more new characters will appear. Dragon Ball DAIMA. The questions surrounding Gohan and his family will likely be answered soon, and it's entirely possible that many of the currently omitted characters simply haven't been revealed yet. Fans will be able to learn more about all of the characters in DAIMA, old and new, when it debuts on October 11, 2024.
