We don't usually share news like this, but it looks like several video games are getting anime adaptations. Netflix just announced that Devil May Cry, Splinter Cell, and Cyberpunk 2077 will be animated series.
Devil May Cry should be well adapted into an anime. Visually, it should be as good as the Castlevania anime. The animated series is produced by Studio Mir, which is also behind The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The studio also worked on The Death of Superman, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, and X-Men '97. However, in those animes, it only provided additional help.
I am a little worried about the Splinter Cell anime, however. Let's start with the first good thing. It's nice to see something new from Splinter Cell. I don't know how good it will be as an anime, though. Ubisoft itself will be responsible for the series and Liev Schreiber will lend his voice to Sam Fisher. Since it's an anime, I don't know why Ubi didn't use Michael Ironside.
Finally, Netflix and CD Projekt RED announced that they are working on a new Cyberpunk 2077 anime. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a huge hit for both, so it makes sense to capitalize on that success.
Before closing time, Netflix also released a new trailer for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, so I've included that below as well.
Enjoy!
