Croc Legend of the Gobbos Remaster officially comes to PC

Argonaut Games has announced that a remaster of Croc Legend of the Gobbos will be coming to consoles and PC in 2024. To celebrate this announcement, the team has released a teaser trailer, which you can find below.

The game stars Croc, a lovable crocodile who embarks on a quest to free the Gobbos from the clutches of the evil Baron Dante. According to the press release, the remaster promises to bring the popular game to a new generation of players, with improved high-resolution graphics, updated modern control mechanics, and a nostalgic, fun, and authentic gaming experience.

Additionally, the remaster will include the Crocipedia, an extensive and carefully curated digital museum that contains long-lost development resources, including game design documents, concept art, animation tests, interviews with team members, and much more.

Said Gary Sheinwald, co-CEO of Argonaut Games.

“I worked closely with Jez on the design and production of Starglider, Argonaut's first big hit in 1986, so taking on the task of relaunching Argonaut Games almost four decades later is a real full-circle experience for me. We have more exciting announcements in the pipeline in the coming months.”

Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games, also added.

“We wanted to honor the legacy of the original game while introducing it to a new audience. The HD remaster allows us to do just that. It's been a labor of love for our team and we can't wait to share it with players on all current consoles and PC later this year.”

Jez San, founder of Original Argonaut Games, summed it up:

“I'm delighted to see the Argonaut name back after 20 years. Argonaut has always been about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in gaming, and I'm excited to see how the relaunched Argonaut Games builds on that legacy, starting with the remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.”

There is currently no exact estimated release date for the remaster, but we will of course keep you updated.
