AMC Theatres to Bring 2023 Blue beetle Returns to the Movies for Hispanic Heritage Month in September starting from September 20th and until September 26thaccording to the AMC Theatres website. The 2023 film stars Xolo Maridueña, Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez.
Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated annually from September 15 to October 15, recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans on the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.
Maridueña plays the titular herorecent college graduate Jaime Reyes, searching for purpose in the world after returning home to find it isn't quite as he remembers it. In his search for purpose in life and the world, Jaime stumbles upon an ancient relic made of alien biotechnology called the Scarab. He is then chosen to be the host of the Scarab, and given unimaginable armor and powers, thus becoming the Blue Beetle.

Earlier this year it was announced that Blue beetle will move from the live-action to the animated TV series. Maridueña shared that Warner Bros. and DC Studios are “I'm still gathering the rest of the gang to make sure everyone can do” animation Blue beetle series. “As someone who has never stopped watching animated shows, It's such an honor to be able to bring Blue beetle on the small screen,” Maridueña added. He also said he would be open to the idea of reprising his role in a live-action version if the opportunity arose.
Blue beetle had a disappointing box office performance last year, grossing approximately $131 million worldwide. The film had a budget of around $104 million. The film is one of the last chapters of the DCEU and was written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and directed by Angel Manuel Soto.
Although it was not a box office success, Blue beetle It did well on the streaming platform Max, where it was the most streamed film on the platform at the time. Maridueña's performance also received praise. The film is certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a Tomatometer score of 78% and a Popcornmeter score of 91%.
