Modder “WestAard” has just released a must-have HD texture pack for Baldur's Gate 3 that's around 27GB in size. This pack will significantly improve some of the low resolution textures players can find in this RPG. So let's take a closer look.
The BG3 Texture Upscale project is 11 GB in zipped form and after extraction it is about 27 GB. To improve the textures, the modder used AI tools. More specifically, he upscaled most textures by four times. Therefore, the new textures retain the art style of the originals.
WestAard did not elaborate on the textures included in this pack. As far as I know, it covers most of the game's textures, except for armor and clothing.
You can download this HD texture pack from this link. You can also find some comparison screenshots at the end of the article. These will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from it. And as you'll see, this HD Texture Pack actually brings a noticeable visual improvement.
For the ultimate BG3 mod experience, the modder also recommends using the following packages. The combination allows you to rework all the textures in the game.
Now I know that many PC gamers will be playing Baldur's Gate 3 from the zoomed out isometric perspective. And yes, from this perspective you may not notice the blurry textures. Still, these packs will work wonders when you zoom in. So I highly recommend downloading it.
Baldur's Gate 3 came out in 2023 and surprised the industry. Larian did a great job with this. Now I'm excited to see what the studio's next game will be. As far as we know, it won't be Baldur's Gate 4. Still, let's hope it lives up to the standards set by BG3.
Have fun and stay tuned for more!
