“Never read the comments” is a truism often rehearsed by veteran games journalists, but I've long since moved past that axiom and entered the new world of benevolent narcissism. I Always Read the comments, because all commenters are my children. They exist to uplift me and protect me in my senility. True, my kids occasionally say things like, “I think your writing and thinking are terrible and you deserve to be run over by a herd of deer over and over again,” but it's kids' nature to rebel.
This all means that the interruption of comments during the technology transition this week has been painful for me. I miss you all! I don't have anything specific to say in this post – I just thought we could make a place to gather after this long, awkward purgatory of articles has been published without any trickle or waterfall of reader insights. What are you all doing? Have any news to share? I heard there is some kind of election somewhere. I promise you, the comment interruption is irrelevant.
