Agatha All Along's reported budget breaks an MCU record

Agata always just broke a Marvel Cinematic Universe record previously held by Echo. The well received WandaVision The spinoff was reportedly Marvel Studios' cheapest Disney+ series to date.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Agate It's the studio's least expensive live-action series to date, and that's significant.” While THR did not reveal the production budget for Agata alwaysthe use of “significantly” strongly implies that the latest Disney+ series cost significantly less than the $40 million Marvel spent Echo. Although Agate Costing around $40 million, it would still be significantly cheaper than Marvel Studios' early Disney+ offerings, which had similar budgets to its blockbuster films (She-Hulk: Lawyer they cost 212 million dollars, for example).

Set three years after the events of the Disney+ limited series WandaVision, Agata always finds Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness “down and powerless after a suspicious goth teenager (Joe Locke) helps her free herself from a twisted spell.” The synopsis continues: “His interest is piqued when he begs her to take him to the legendary Witches' Road, a magical gauntlet that, if survived, rewards a witch with what she's missing out on. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teenager put together a desperate congregation and set off down, down, down the Road…”

In addition to Locke and Hahn, Agata always stars Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale, Ali Ahn as Alice Wu-Gulliver, Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, Okwui Okpokwasili as Vertigo and Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, among others.

The premiere of Agatha All Along attracted 9.3 million views

Despite not featuring Marvel blockbusters like Iron Man, Spider-Man or Wolverine, Agata always still managed to attract a nice audience, with Disney+ revealing earlier this week that the opening episode of WandaVision the spinoff received 9.3 million views after one week on the streaming service. Like Netflix, Disney+ viewing metrics evaluate views by dividing total streaming time by running time. Although this is a good start for Agata always9.3 million views after one week is still lower than the 10.9 million views of the season 2 premiere of Loki received after just three days on Disney+. However, while Hahn's Agatha Harkness is easily the most popular MCU villain since Tom Hiddleston's Loki, the God of Mischief has been around longer, meaning he probably has more fans.

The MCU finally drops Mephisto's name

After teasing Mephisto since the beginning of Phase 4, Marvel Studios finally mentioned the Marvel supervillain out loud in the third episode of Agata always“Through Many Miles of Tricks and Trials”, leading many fans to theorize that the character could appear at some point during the limited series. Showrunner Jac Shaeffer only fueled this theory further, telling Entertainment Weekly, “With these shows, so often there's something that's simultaneously a joke and a wink and a nod, and actually has something legit underneath. As we all know, Mephisto is a very involved character in Agatha's plot, I mean, people have to watch, but we always play with the audience that way.”

The first three episodes of Agata always are currently streaming on Disney+, with new episodes debuting every Wednesday until the finale on October 30.
