Aaron McDevitt has just released a new F-Zero-inspired racing game called Aero GPX on Steam Early Access. Aero GPX is basically an F-Zero clone for PC, and as you'll see, it looks pretty damn incredible.
Aero GPX is an anti-gravity racing game that is all about high speed, flying, battle between machines and responsive controls that are easy to learn but hard to master. There are 30 machines on the track in each race. Pilots fight for the best possible position using high speed, risky maneuvers and brutal attacks. In addition, the game offers some of its own twists that feel like a new experience with a touch of nostalgia.
The greatest feature of Aero GPX in my opinion is its speed. The machines in this game move fast. And when I say fast, I mean REALLY FAST.
Since Nintendo has no plans to bring F-Zero to PC, this is the best alternative, so it will be interesting to see whether PC gamers will embrace it or not.
The Steam Early Access version contains the first 15 circuits of it (out of the planned 25). The game will remain in Early Access until March/April 2025.
It's also worth noting that you don't need a high-end PC to run it. According to the PC specs, PC gamers will need at least an Intel Celeron G5905 with 2GB of RAM and Intel UHD Graphics 610. The game also only requires 2GB of free storage space, so it's almost a given that it will run on a wide range of PC configurations.
Enjoy!
